The increasing use of advanced ultrasonic testing techniques for the inspection of industrial plants and structures. We offer NDT training courses for Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD) and Phased Array (PA) with trainers who have a broad practical and theoretical knowledge gained over many years. Courses are available to obtain either a formal NDT qualification or according to client needs, such as training for managers and design engineers or for quality assurance / quality control (QA/QC) personnel to interpret and review NDT inspection results.
Syllabus
- Techniques & TOFD Machine Characteristics.
- Calibration TOFD Equipment
- Scanning Platesa Accqire Data
- Selection of Number of Scans for an Inspection.
- Locate and Evaluate Defects Using TOFD
- To Select the Correct Type of Probe/ Machine Parameters
- Examine Welded Butt Joints in Steel Plate
- To Report on the Location and Size of Defects in Typical
- Welded Butt Joints.
- To Interpret Code Requirements.
Advanced NDT Courses
Phased array ultrasonics (PA) is an advanced method of ultrasonic testing that has applications in medical imaging and industrial nondestructive testing. Common applications are to noninvasivelyexamine the heart or to find flaws in manufacturedmaterials such as welds. Single-element (non-phased array) probes, known technically as monolithic probes, emit a beam in a fixed direction. To test or interrogate a large volume of material, a conventional probe must be physically scanned (moved or turned) to sweep the beam through the area of interest.
Syllabus
- Introduction
- Transducedrs
- Imaging Basics
- Phased Array Instrumentation
- Anatomy of Phased Array Display
- Typical Applications
Advanced NDT Courses
Internal rotary inspection system (IRIS) is an ultrasonic method for the nondestructive testing of pipes and tubes. The IRIS probe is inserted into a tube that is flooded with water, and the probe is pulled out slowly as the data is displayed and recorded. The ultrasonic beam allows detection of metal loss from the inside and outside of the tube wall.
Syllabus
- Introduction About IRIS
- Separation of ID or OD Flaws and Damage Areas
- Depth of The Flaws
- Flaw Types ( Corrosion, Erosion, Vibration, Wall Thinning)
- Damage Grade; Local or Areal
- Position of Damage In Direction of the Tube Length and Tube Circumference
- Flaw Depth Histograms Showing the Average Grade of Wall Thickness Thinning
- Tube Map’s With Classifications of Tubes According Damage Grade and/or Flaw Types
- 3D Presentation of Testing Results Including Damaged Areas, Individual Flaws or Flaw Types.
Advanced NDT Courses
Automated ultrasonic testing is a family of ultrasonic testing methods that use mechanized means to drive the ultrasonic scanning equipment around the part being tested. Automated ultrasonic testing may also incorporate computer software that can aid the technician when detecting discontinuities. Automated ultrasonic testing reduces the ultrasonic inspection time for many different applications.
Syllabus
- To set up and operate AUT scanners.
- To configure software for differing weld configurations.
- Calibration of equipment.
- To locate and evaluate defects
- To select the correct type of probe/ machine parameters to examine welded butt joints in steel plate.
- To report on the location and size of defects in typical welded butt joints.
- To interpret code requirements.
- Results.
